I am grateful to say that I have made it to 9 years!

Holding this space to share with you, offering the items that we have of the art and crafts of some of our favorite people, having the conversations that need to be said, and getting the crystals to where they can help and heal is a big part of Gaia's Gifts.

Gaia offers support to all of us and is powerful when asked.  Just lay in the grass when feeling out of sorts, take a walk barefoot, get outside as much as possible.  Recharge your internal battery with the rays of the Sun.

In October 2024, the existing group is took a trip to the Sheep & Wool Show in Rhinebeck, NY.  I encourage you to experience a Wool show so you can see all the wonderful fiber arts.

Time:  1:00 - 3:00 pm

Learn and create your own hooked rugs to use as art, chair pad, coaster or to actually put on the floor.

Rug Hooking is a Folk Art that dates back to when women wanted to make their homes comfortable but couldn't afford it, so, being resourceful, used what they had. Old burlap feed bags as the backing, worn out wool clothing and blankets for the "worms" and a bent nail put in a piece of wood for the hook. Basically, that is all you need but now we use monks cloth or similar material for the backing, wool is available on the bolt (but I still love to hunt the thrifts shops to up-cycle wool clothing), and a variety of hooks are available for purchase. Oh, and I forgot a frame to hold your project while creating it. Beginners can use a quilting hoop until they decide they are "hooked" and buy a hooking frame. That is for later. A nice sharp little pair of scissors for snipping and you are ready to go.

Each month, we gather - like an old fashion quilting circle - and make a project from beginning to end. Some projects will take 2-3 months to learn all the steps to finish but you will have fun in-between hooking your design.

Of course, I am available during shop hours to work one-on-one with you.

Time: We start at 1:00
The first hour is show-and-tell, show off what you are working on or finished
The second hour is "hooking", let's get to it!
You are welcome to stay another hour, once you get going, it is hard to stop.
